Video upload fail

With editing pretty much done for our first advert we decided to try and upload it to youtube, with no success as it is the wrong video format. And we cannot be sure whether we where successfull in copying the actual file to our usb sticks. But we will have hoped to have fixed this problem by tomorrow afternoon!

Filming-Filming again-Dance School?!

We did our initial filming last Monday of the car advert but it soon got dark, which in effect ruined the whole advert, so we decided on Thursday that we would need to re film the advert all over again on Saturday. On Saturday there where was a minor problem, The battery in Patrick's car died so it had to be pushed down a road to the filming location, which was done easily. Another problem was the discovery of a children's dance class or school , so in the space of 5 minutes about 20 cars turned up halting our filming, bit after these mishaps we finished the filming :].

We hope to start the post production tomorrow.

Wow everything is coming together

I have realised that we have not been updating our blogs as much as we should have been doing as of late partly due to other commitments but we will male up for this as we have decided on the design for our can! =]. And we will have hoped to have filmed one of our adverts tomorrow afternoon, with editing and post production to occur  in the next couple of weeks. We should have hopefully come up with our radio advert ideas soon as well. I think I can speak for all of us on this we don't want to fail. We have come to far to just give up now. Byeee

Can design

I created this design using the paint application.

Filming Starts: Monday

After Mondays planning session went ahead, we decided that we should film our first advert the following week. But first we each have to come up with our own designs for the can cover, which we will decide upon tomorrow, if all goes according to plan, we can start to film our second advert, after or during half term.

Ideas, Ideas, Ideas. :]

On our first day back from half term Patrick, Aila and I had a brainstorming session for the 2nd advert. We came up with the idea of someone trying to start up their car, but unable to, they then see an empty can of 'Recharge' and begin to dream about what their life could be like if they had some 'Recharge'. We intend to use humour as a basis for our adverts, involving dream sequences.

Ideas so far, me and my team(patrick &aila) have decided apon one advert idea. The premise of this advert is of a student tired in one of their college lectures; who sees that they have a can of "Recharge". We hope to start devolping this further by making the original storyboard more clearer and in touch with our target auidence.

Advertising conventions. continued

According to the advertising standards authority "Consumers view advertising as a source of information and entertainment, research has shown. Consumers believe that advertising is an integral part of everyday culture: without advertising, life would be dull. This willing acceptance of advertising by consumers relies not just on its entertainment value but also on its trustworthiness."

In the UK, the rules for advertising are the responsibility of the advertising industry through two Committees of Advertising Practice: CAP (Broadcast)and CAP (Non-broadcast). CAP (Broadcast) is responsible for the TV and radio advertising codes and CAP(Non-broadcast) is responsible for the rulebook for non-broadcast advertisements, sales promotions and direct marketing.

By creating and following self-imposed rules, advertisers, promoters and direct marketers (marketers), their agencies and the media produce marketing that is welcomed and trusted. By practising self-regulation, they ensure the integrity of marketing communications.

Although this advert may only be viewable on the internet instead of the standard advert, I still think it is effective when representing this drink.
